People think kids won’t pick up on the subtexts but I always knew the Trix rabbit represented naturalistic third world nations and the denim-clad selfish children represented America. The cereal represented either economic autonomy or, you know, cereal. Either way I think it’s fair to say Trix commercials helped turn me against Reagan-era foreign aid policies.
